and medicine. Members of this society practice
such advanced technologies as: Tissue, genetic and
cellular engineering and biotechnology,

processing and instrumentation, biomechanics of
tissue, cell, organ, and body, systems integrative,
dynamical, and regulatory, Transport phenomena,
membranes, and receptors, imaging-synthesis,
characterization, and display, neural engineering
and electrophysiology, bioengineering in education,
industry, and society.

Many members combine qualifications in several
disciplines - engineering, science, and medicine.
They influence all areas of health practice and
research, using a very wide range of knowledge and
experience. The society holds an annual meeting,
publishes the Annals of Biomedical Engineering
and a quarterly newsletter along with two
additional journals.
