ARDMS promotes quality care and patient safety through the certification and continuing competency of ultrasound professionals. The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), incorporated in 1975, is an independent, nonprofit organization that administers examinations and awards credentials in the areas of diagnostic medical sonography (RDMS), diagnostic cardiac sonography (RDCS), vascular interpretation (RPVI) and vascular technology (RVT). ARDMS has over 65,000 certified individuals throughout the world and is considered the global standard in medical ultrasound credentialing.
